VOIP systems and usage

//Back to the Codex//   We use three primary forms of voice communication for our project.   First is Guilded, which we use for Out of Character (OOC) communication and information coordination.     Second is the in game chat, which we use for all roleplay in a very similar manner as a tabletop roleplaying game, you can describe actions your character is taking with your voice in addition to actually saying what your character is saying.     Third is Teamspeak. Everyone must be logged into teamspeak during any patrol or operation for two reasons. They need to be able to hear the radio traffic coming through (it is assumed your character has a receiver for this) and it will be used for emergency OOC communication in case we need the discussion to take place out of the game itself. Additionally the only people who can transmit in character over the radio are Designated Radio operators and Power Armor Pilots ONLY, please see docs channel in Guilded for server information.   It can be downloaded here:   //Teamspeak Downloads//     This program is used to simulate radio communications between the BoS during gameplay. And we use a couple of addons for increased immersion. Only people who operate power armor or are designated radio operators use this program in this method.   RadioFX (the teamspeak plugin used for the radio crackle effect) is found here:   //Radio FX Plugin download//     If you need RP help for how to act on the radio, please see chapter 12 of the Radio Tech Manual and the BoS radio Fundamentals Article:   //BoS Radio Fundamentals Article//
//Radio Tech Manual//     It is very important that you take the time to evaluate your setup involving all three of these VOIP programs and make sure that you are providing clear, concise communication over all of them. I highly suggest that everyone use push-to-talk for all three systems and assign separate keys so you can switch between all three at any given time as needed.   It is also important to note that most of us have Guilded muted during session play.   Additionally, please be considerate of your fellow BoS members when using VOIP. We don’t need to hear coughing, burping, bong hits, like vibrating controllers, or arguments with your family members or other disruptive noise spilling over the mic.   Setting up Push-To-Talk is highly recommended for all three VOIP systems.   //Back to the Codex//
