Canon Camps

//Back to the Codex//   Some of our camps are considered canon in our lore. These camps are crucial to our operations as starting locations or target locations for patrols.

(Your camp here)

If you have achieved the initiate rank want your camp to be part of our canon you have to declare that you don’t intend to move it, create a compelling backstory and submit it for approval, and have senior leadership perform a theme inspection.   It also becomes a jump off point for patrols that people can use for RP.

Tips for the creation of Canon Camps

Your goal for any canon camp should be to blend in with the surrounding environment and make the camp feel like part of the world as much as possible. In order to achieve this keep the following in mind.   You don't need to place everything sold in the atomic shop in your camp. Less is more.   You are not trying to complete Project Purity, don't place excessive water pumps in your camp. No more than 3, and even then careful thought should be put into their assortment and placement.   Try to use as few foundations as possible to make your camp work with the local terrain.   No floating anything, anywhere. If it cannot be placed without floating that isn't the place for whatever it is.   Less is more always. Try to focus around a smaller structure, it is very difficult to build larger buildings and properly make them looked lived in.   Make them look lived in! These are not long abandoned buildings, our chapter lives and works out of them.   Build it Brotherhood. Try to keep in mind that this structure has been taken over and built by a faction that has a military mindset, build defenses. Use the ASAM sites in the game as inspiration. Try to keep it to a minimalistic/military feel. You can never go wrong with the Brotherhood Bunker.   Don't use US flags, the brotherhood broke away from the US and this promotes the wrong idea about the faction.   Use the environment! It can be a chore, but think of your camp as an accent to the terrain around you, don't fight it, work with it.   Do not use glitching, sometimes called "tricks" or "features" to break the normal build restrictions for camps. This is against the chapter rules per the codex as well, but absolutely applies to camps. If you have to break the rules to place an object you shouldn't be doing it.

Example of a Canon Camp

The Bunker:

The site designated as CB-635D was once a small landfill that was appropriated by the US Army under the cover of an environmental cleanup. Several Igloo installations were built in the area to store and dispose of some of the worst aging and experimental weaponized biological and chemical agents of the pre-war era. The true nature of the disposal operation was carried out in secret, leaving the population at large unaware of its very existence.   The facility houses an array of chemical and biological scientific equipment necessary for the reconstituted Brotherhood's mission focus. Paladin Afrika knew of the remaining weapon stockpiles held within and considered their protection a primary duty of the chapter.   A list of our current canon camps can be found at our //List of Canon Camps//
