New Askeria

Structure

the King/Queen holds primary power but is held in check by a councile of advisors who all are representative of their respective guilds and of their religious leaders. the system then breaks down into the individual guilds and temples which are found in all NA kingdoms and are held to that guilds rules and traditions.

Culture

the New Askerian Kingdom holds on to their roots by preserving as much of their old ways and beleifs as well as building on them over time. they follow their ancestral religion known as the Church of the Nine Guardians, and have a stong respect for spirits, specific gender roles, traditional clothing, and specific rituals.

Public Agenda

the old askerian empire originally was just an emperor ruled society to which the emperor held full power over their subjects and had advisors and generals who would cary out their orders. however, in modern day, this has since evolved as the people of the New Askerian Kingdom have come to form into various guilds which hold a great amount of power of its respective trades. this lead to the creation of a mixed king/council based system where the guild leaders are voted in by their guild members, and act as a voice of reason that can hold the king in check.

Assets

the New Askerian empire deals in trade of wood, mined ores and minerals, knowledge and various other goods as well as a powerful political force to its neighboring kingdoms. it also holds much of the old askerian ruins and its capital which keeps a historical significance.      it is speculated that the royal family knows the secret of where the Mystican Ruins are however they refuse to acknowlege or confirm this information.

History

Orginally founded in the year 3484 the civil war of that shattered the Askerian Empire 3469-3483. The surviving heirs of the Askerian royal family reformed what little they could into what is now known as New Askeria.

Territories

New Askeria has claimed much of the more important land of its predecessor, especially of its capital whose ruins sit nearby the new capital of New Kastelyr. the land around it spans to much of the spice oak pines and some of the woods to its south. it only stops due to its neighboring kingdoms which sit just near its borders to the east and effectivly hold it back from expanding in that direction.

Military

NA holds a military much stronger than its neighboring kingdoms. it held on to its original royal guard and many generals of the old emperor which then took on and trained new soldiers to regrow. its force consists of steel knights, battle weavers, alchemists, and many more assents.

Technological Level

technologially speaking, new askeria is of some of the more advanced kingdoms on mav'rok second only to Pepperknook. New askeria's understanding of Runeweaving, Runebinding, alchemy, and its new discovery of metal resonance channeling is giving to a steady rise in technology over the last few generations.

Religion

the church holds a firm grasp over the New Askerian people. every town has a temple in it. the temple acts as a place of law, worship, knowledge, and healing. it is common for temples to have schools where they teach children to read and write as well as history and tradition.   the church has strong views on channelers, rare as they may be. to be a channeler outside of the church is considered blasphemous, as they believe one should only use magic to glorify the gods and to use it for ones own gain is to claim that you are the same as the gods themselves. any who are found to channel outside the church are labeled as "Wild Mages" and are often given the choice to join the church, swearing oaths to their religion and docterine, or to be imprisoned or sentenced to death (or in some cases indoctrinated into the askerian military). to enforce this, the church has created acolytes called Steel Knights which are soldiers sworn to the task of beridding any wild mages from the kingdom or neighboring kingdoms for that matter.

Agriculture & Industry

Askeria is a big producer of metals such as silver, copper and tin, but especially in iron which they use in armour and weapons against "wild mages" and as part of their military forces to defend against oppossing magic based militia.   they also trade in logging, and port trades like fishing and general transportation of goods.

Trade & Transport

they have access to several rivers and the coastline for water based trade and transportation which allows for trade to come and go from all over. they also have several major roads which see a lot of travel from merchants and vagabonds which keep their economy flowing.   their trades in metals, minerals, foods and wooden goods are sent to their allied kingdoms and accepted through these routs.

Education

due to the widespread of temples amungst the New Askerian kingdom, most towns provide schooling and education for its children. this has lead to a widespread of literacy and a basic understanding of history and of course tradition.

Infrastructure

new askeria has built upon its predicessors. its ifrastructure wields complex aquaducts, sewage systems, well established roads, boarder towers, bridges, temples, castles etc.

Major Imports
New askeria likes to transport glass and other goods from the dustveil dessert, of which they have good terms with many of the clans down there. they also do trade with the crystal lake for their unique precious gemstones as well as their connections to various river networks that make that territory a crossroads to many other kingdoms.
Legislative Body
The council creates and suggests laws which are then voted on and written before then being approved by the current standing monarch.
Judicial Body
the reginal temples of the CoNG are typically responcible for carrying out judicial practices.
Executive Body
The Church temples often work closely with a guild dedicated to law enforcement which is a branch of the kingdoms military system and are commonly reffered to as guards. these guards are sent or hired at all NA settlements and serve to enforce the law and keep order in the kingdom.
