Bosh
Bosh is the demigod placed in charge of Mechanus due to the imprisonment of Primus . She is an ancient being, often assumed to be the oldest living mortal in all of the planes. Bosh commands the modrons of Mechanus to continue to carry out their eternal duty of managing the clockwork masterpiece which operates Primus' original grand purpose. Bosh is also in charge of defending Primus in his prison, a task which has proved surprisingly occupying due to the many hopeful who seek to defeat for good the essence of time itself. In life, she was a simple Helf, who amounted to nothing exciting in particular in her life. She maintained a small vineyard in a long since shifted valley and never had any children to call her own. Because of her mundane life, Bosh was the ideal candidate in the eyes of Primus. Legend says that one night, while Bosh was out pruning the vines, Primus materialised to her and gave her an ultimatum, to become the "Eternal tender to the fruitful vineyards of Mechanus" (from [Taro's Deitology of the Realms]) or to "Let the world beyond the lands beyond your hills fall to the flame atop the shrinking candle of time". Fearing the consequences of declining the offer of a god, she agreed, and became the demigod she is to this day.
Any visitors to Mechanus have to go through Bosh, who they describe as a decorated, pale and tall figure. They say she wears ornate white porcelain headdresses and flowing cyan capes made of silk that float behind her as she walks. She carries a staff made of some wondrous white opaque glass, topped with a floating perfectly translucent diamond. Those lucky enough to get close to her claim to have peered deep into the future by looking into the diamond, and witness the long lost past by getting lost in her piercing blue eyes. They describe in their accounts that the modrons seem to move to her every will without her even talking, as if some sort of unspoken telepathic understanding is held between them. Despite her commanding figure however, she is always described as depressed, or lacking purpose in the way she moves and acts, as if she is merely going through the motions of her cursed eternal life.
