Lucerys is the Prince of Rook's Rest and the youngest of the sons of King Daemon I Blackfyre and queen Rohanne, Lucerys is an accomplished naval commander and fighter.

Lucerys has a large scar on the left side of his face, given to him by the barbed whip of a slaver captain he fought and defeated in the Stepstones.

Lucerys squired for his brother King Aemon for some years, alongside Prince Valerian Blackfyre and Barquis Peake, before finishing his training at the Arbor under Lord Florian Fossoway who trained him both to be a knight and an admiral.

Prince Lucerys successfully led a small fleet comprised of the twenty fastest ships in the Royal Fleet along with his own flagship, Tristina's Trueheart, in the hunting of the pirate leader Bloodless Belaqho, who he slew in personal combat.
