Gilbert Redwyne

Gilbert was born in the Arbor to Ser Manfryd Redwyne the younger brother of Lord Robert Redwyne. He was raised alongside his cousins Runceford,Alexandra and Desmerra and over the years he grew especially close to Alexandra. Gilbert worshipped Runceford begging his uncle to make him Runceford's squire.   During the tourney at Highgarden Gilbert approached Lord Brandon Stark asking him about the North before Brandon challenged his cousin Runceford to a duel. Once Runceford won Gilbert worshipped him even more and followed his every command. Gilbert grew fondness for a serving girl at Highgarden but was heartbroken to see Runceford already married her, angering the Hightowers. After Runceford betrayed him Gilbert asked if he could squire for Lord Phobos Yronwood which his cousin allowed. After traveling to Yronwood after the tourney he met his would be future wife Elayne and grew a fondness for the Yronwoods before he was called to Oldtown to apologize for his cousin breaking the promise he made to Lord Hightower. While he was waiting he was put in the Citadel where he heard news of the Yronwood's demise, he studied at the citadel for 6 years. During the battle of the Kingswood he attempted to desert but was stopped by camp guards before he could. During a brawl in the camp he lost his voice temporarily when Lord Marbrand punched him especially hard. Eventually after Maekar's defeat he reunited with his cousins growing closer to them. Soon he met his cousins son with the serving girl Ryam and they grew close as Ryam began to squire for him. Soon he married Danielle Torrent and impregnated her before going to the war for the Vale. With Ryam he subdued The Paps, Pebble and the Sisters and later was rewarded by the Crown with lordship over the Sisters while Ryam received Gulltown. During a trip to the street of steel dwarves stole from him and hit his head which restored his voice. Gilbert began getting closer to Alexandra after her husbands death and worked hard with the Hand to find the murderer. After Reese Swann named the Baron the tourney began and Gilbert participated in the melee and joust. He lost to Ser Arron Dayne in the first bout and lost to Prince Daemon Blackfyre  in the 2nd bout of the joust before going to the Sisters after news of an Ironborn attack at White Harbor.

An educated man, Gilbert studied for years in the Citadel, forging 4 links.

He's a close friend of Lord Nicholas Mordvig and Ser Robyn Ryswell of the Kingsguard.
