Ruth Anne Black is the owner of the Black Box Casino and is suspected to be one of the deadly Black Aces though authorities have yet to emerge from any investigation with evidence.
or to emerge at all, from within the Black Box.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Ruth grew up wanting more than a small, sleepy town that fancied itself a big city. and while the bright lights of a showgirl's life carried all the ups and downs that she expected, there was more she hadn't planned for until she found herself expecting. when the stork came calling Ruth arranged for her twin sister, Mallory, to take care of baby Grace. she refused to cede any ground in the race to make her mark in entertainment.
Mental Trauma
life among the children of the Black Family quickly devolved into boys against girls. in every attempt to gain any attention or respect from their father, David and Isaac would team up against the sisters in practical jokes and escapades that almost exclusively ended in violence.
painfully aware of her father's alcoholism, Ruth rarely drinks. her tendency to addiction shows itself in her proclivity for dispensing violence with slow, deliberate measure.
Intellectual Characteristics
psychopathic narcissist with Machiavellian tendencies and selective sociopathy. she paints the surrounding air with class and charm while perfuming her private suite with pain.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Ruth is a top, always.
she built a gilded cage of her own design rather than be under someone else's thumb. especially either of her father's sons. she is fueled by her spite toward them which plays out in her attitude toward the patrons of the casino, men in particular.
now she sits at the center of the Black Box, a spider in her web, playing a game of her own design toward an end only she knows.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
particularly good at math, statistics, and games. bad at trust and intimacy. longs to be a better poet.
Social
Family Ties
the middle child, oldest daughter, and a twin, Ruth grew up being bullied by her father's sons. they were always trying to impress her father, Thomas Quinn.
she decided to kill Thomas the first time she witnessed him lay hands on her mother, Evelyn Black.
Relationships
You can certainly try, but I don't recommend it.
