Ruaüzhou (/ɹɨæˌsɨʒɒˈɨ/)
Among the elfs, a ruaüzhou is a learned teacher, a wise council, a spiritual guide. The name means "one who is becoming wise".
Most are in Tribe Nushar, followers of Nushŗa, Goddess of Wisdom and Learning. While most kuruaüzhou will study knowledge for its own sake, their goal is not understanding of the physical but of the spiritual and emotional. They seek wisdom over intellectualism, purpose over meaning, why over what. It is this that causes leaders to call upon them when decisions will impact many. They will generally advise what's best for the greater number of people rather than the leader seeking guidance, and do so with brutal honesty. They will also suggest a path that is more painful but offers greater benefit than the easy path that offers immediate benefit. It is this desire to help the most the greatest amount for the longest time that they are renowned for.
Of course, no profession is without it's darker practitioners. Thus, not every Ruaüzhou seeks the greatest benefit for the most souls. Some seek the greatest benefit for their own soul. Case in point, Patimo Nushar, Sush Odupix, in a bid to increase a king's dependency on them, advised the king to burn acres of wheat when a single plant was found to be infested with a spore-based mold. This action triggered a famine and caused the king to order raw and processed grain from two neighboring nations. Bad advice, of course. But Patimo had an investment in the shipping group that would handle moving the grain from the fields and processing facilities to the lands of the advised king, whose name is lost, but Patimo is held as a cautionary tale for those who would be a Ruaüzhou.
