Bureaucracy of Death
This collection of Nymphs, minor gods, and other spirits help the goddess Ethatha with processing souls of those who have died. Mostly sifting through records and evalutating the collections of choices, deeds, and deals that make up someones life. The souls are then sent to their proper place in the immaterial plane.
Structure
The Bureacracy is made up of a massive collection of various and overlapping departments, bureaus, committees, and various offices charged with task of processing souls, finding documentation, correcting mistakes of other departments, liasons with the various pantheons and fiends of the immaterial planes.
The Department of Deathcare is the part of the bureaucracy that most souls have to deal with. They are charged with processing each soul of those who have died. Souls are delivered by one of the many psychopomps to the Bureau, and then assigned to a Death worker who will evaluate the soul and then bring them to the proper receptical where they can be properly judged by their diety, or they are sent to the Infernal Waiting Hall, where they will be taken to their eternal reward depending on who they sold their soul to.
The Office of Afterworld Correction is another well known part of the bureaucracy (as well known as part of the afterlife can be). This small office is charged with hunting down wayward souls who have been misplaced. This rarely happens, but as so many people die it needs to be monitored. Agents of this office travel to different planes to find souls that have been sent to the wrong afterlife and move them to the correct one. They occasionally have to fight it out with demons, devils, angels, and other immaterial beings who hold their souls jealously.
