When held, it can be used to heal 10HP by the bearer. If the 10 point heals past the bearer's maximum HP, then the remainder is converted to temporary HP. Example - Bort uses the gem to heal for 10HP. He currently has 18 from his maximum of 22. Bort then heals the 4 points and gains 6 temporary HP. The gem has unlimited charges, but only be used once per long rest.
