Honor's Mantle
A long, flowing cape that is worn by the knights of the Silrion orders. It is viewed as a symbol of security to the people of Silrioch and instantly identifiable to anyone there. To bolster their symbolism, the capes are specifically made so that even the slightest breeze will set them billowing, making them easily visible to those around the knights.
Manufacturing process
Mantles are made by taking a large sheet of black cloth and laying it out flat. Measurements are taken and the cloth cut accordingly to fit the knight it is made for. The made is then sewn in with the special silver thread to create the Argent family crest on the back, which is what denotes the cape as an Honor's Mantle. From there, the final bits are added on to add the string which allows the knight to tie the cape on.
History
The cape was designed in the early days of Silrioch by the first of the Argent line. They developed the knightly orders as a way to help watch over and regulate their nascent kingdom. However, the Argents also wanted the knights to be easily recognizable to the common folk and so had a distinct design of cape made, using thread made of silver, making them difficult to replicate.
Significance
Honor's Mantle has become an easily recognizable symbol to all who live in Silrioch. Most people see it as a symbol of justice and safety, feeling better whenever they see the capes billowing in the wind, knowing that they will soon be safe. However, there are some, especially after The Mad King's War, who are growing to doubt the kingdom and the knights, after some bent the knee to Seimon Argent.
