Personal history
Charlie is a special kind of guy. Seemingly unconcerned by his past or the mystery surrounding his unusual anatomy, Charlie has only ever wanted to be the best henchman he can be. Or, at least, that's what he believes. What he doesn't know, and what Brainiac was able to uncover, is that his entire personality was simply implanted into the body of some unknown shapeshifting monstrosity by The Jackal. The resulting being has found himself simply coasting from one gig to the next, trying to make his way up in the world of professional henching and work for some of the big names in the Bathala City supervillain scene.
After working a particularly menial job for an up-and-coming villainess, he soon found himself being used as a lab rat in one of her more dubious biological experiments. It was during this experiment Vivienne discovered the unique biology that set Charlie aside from the other henchmen that she so callously transformed into aberrations of her own design. Whenever she would transfigure him, the programming in his mind would subconsciously activate and return him to his more recognisable form. Fascinated by this discovery, Vivienne decided to keep him around as a sort of ongoing project and pet. Naturally, Charlie soon came to the conclusion that the pair were dating and she saw no reason to disavow him of any notion that kept him at her beck and call.
From that point, Charlie found a new motivation in trying to become the best henchman he could, all to impress his new girlfriend. It was this desire that brought him face-to-face with the newly-formed B-Team, of whom he is a massive fan, even sporting a homemade t-shirt with their likenesses crudely drawn on it. This wouldn't be the only time he'd come into contact with the team, later meeting them again at the NHSBT laboratory while he was working for Plague, and then again when he was working with The Sovereign Citizens of Bathala to turn off the Power Plant and plunge the City into a blackout, by which time he'd managed to work his way up to henchman captain roles but was starting to seriously irritate his heroes.
The next time Charlie would come up against the members of the B-Team would be while working for The White Knights in The Railyard. While he didn't really understand their rhetoric of cleansing and fire, he didn't need to for them to offer him an easy five star ranking on ThugWork. and so he donned the armour with a smile on his face. His happy smile was not so welcome though, when Rue, seeing his causing the blackout as the direct cause of Harmony's possession by the archdemon Zaebos, used their telekinetic power in a fit of rage to throw Charlie through a railcar, injuring him horribly.
Relationships

Charlie is just trying to keep the wolves from his door. He started taking whatever jobs fell into his lap and soon found himself on sites like "ThugWork" and "Liferr" where he found his calling in life; Henching. Now he works for whichever villain will pay the fees, trying to get his feedback levels high so that he can work for the real heavy hitters.
