Pal'Rathar, the Grand Phoenix

The Grand Phoenix, Pal'Rathar, is a being of immense power. Before the planes were split, ancient civilizations worshiped him as a god. He is the symbol of destruction and rebirth in many ancient rites. Those who shared in his power were granted some of the regenerative powers of a phoenix.

The Plane Split
When the world was still young the planes were all one, but when the gods came they pulled the planes apart into their own realms. Pal'Rathar saw this as a natural part of the cycle of things, knowing that eventually the planes would return together as one.

The Coedwig

Pal'Rathar briefly returned to the material plane when a manipulated firbolg cast an ancient ritual to summon him. This was the instance in which the wizard Gallus Greyhelm attempted to steal his power. The Grand Phoenix however was easily able to counter the wizard's assult, causing Gallus to retreat.   The young firbolg approached the phoenix and apologized for his part in the destruction of the forest, and summoning the phoenix into the world. Pal'Rathar seeing potential in the young mortal, passed on his wisdom, teaching him the druidic ways of the Circle of Wildfire! After this, the phoenix returned to the Fire Realms.
