Charles, Death Monarch
Charles, the Death Monarch, is a quiet, somber figure who lingers in the shadowed forests of the Viridium Empire. Despite his ominous title, Charles is far from the bloodthirsty monster many believe him to be. A former necromancer turned Monarch, he spends his days tending to animals, guiding lost travelers, and maintaining a reluctant balance over death itself. His power flows from his pact with Khabris god of Darkness and Death, the previous Death Monarch, who granted him his title in exchange for lifelong servitude. While adventurers see him as a monster to slay, Charles himself only longs for rest, his yearly meeting with the spirit of his beloved crow, William, being the only solace in his lonely existence.
