Ringsday
A fall celebration held in Mancesham, celebrating the great hero of the City, Levarious Soringen.
History
Begun hundreds of years ago, the festival is in remembrance and celebration of the hero Levarius Soringen, an elven mage who held the western gates with a magical shield during a marauding attack long enough for soldiers to regroup with reinforcements and route the attackers.
Execution
The day begins with sung, joyous prayers to Levarius, asking that he keep watch over the city in death as he did in life. After a large meal at lunchtime, there is then a hunt for a symbolic bracelet, representing the magical shield that Levarius used to hold back the invaders. The person who finds the bracelet is celebrated and also becomes the honorary "ring guardian" of the city until the next festival when they hide the bracelet for the next person to find.
Observance
Takes places mid-week in the last week of Leaf-fall, in memory of the battle.
