Forestfolk
The Forestfolk are a people group on Desolai Island that are native to the land. They have had their fair share of conflicts with Harbor Town, disliking the way that they damaged the natural environment of the island, but a treaty has existed between the Forestfolk and the people of Harbor Town for over a decade thanks to Samryn. They live off the land, careful not to leave a long-lasting mark wherever they go and know the island better than anyone else. The Forestfolk view the people of Harbor Town as invaders, but they haven't tried to completely wipe them out yet as they feel it isn't worth the resources it would take just yet.
Culture
The Forestfolk believe in putting nature first and foremost. They are always careful never to leave a footprint wherever they go, never even making a permanent settlement. They stay in a single place for a week at the longest before moving on so they can't have too much of an impact on wherever they choose to stay. They only kill whenever it's necessary for food, although many do lean towards a vegetarian lifestyle. The Forestfolk disagree with he people of Harbor Town on a fundamental level, but are willing to make peace with them as long as clear boundries are set.
History
The history of the Forestfolk is generally unknown. they were on the island long before the first settlers who would eventually go on to found Harbor Town arrived on the island, and they've always been a rather sercretive group. Some have tried to do some research into the Forestfolk's history -with a few even going so far as to try and infiltrate it and become members- but nothing has come from these attempts.
