Paradise Resort

The Paradise Resort was the first resort built in the Ostroven town of Armini and the facility that started that town's spa and resort industry. After almost 900 years, it is still standing and has been expanded and improved many times since its founding.

Alterations

Other than general expansions to accommodate more guests, the main alterations and changes to the Paradise have involved the spas and the shopping. Around 400 years after the Paradise opened, a visiting court mage from Castillon wanted to make the place even more relaxing, so he stayed a few weeks past his intended departure and enchanted the spas' waters to provide healing and comfort for those suffering chronically painful illness. The magic has held to this day, and there is no indication of it weakening.   The second alteration was the addition of a large, high-end shopping mall attached to the resort. This allows the wealthy patrons to shop for clothes, accessories, and even home goods that can be bought in the resort and either taken with the guests or shipped and delivered to their homes anywhere in the world.

Architecture

The main resort builiding is a large, imposing building that resembles Imperial Japanese architecture. Its sandstone exterior blends in with the beach when viewed from the ocean, though its facade that faces the town's public area has been painted an inoffensive sky blue. Parts of the ground floor are at least three stories tall, providing cavernous ceilings and massive space for overhead art. The spas are in one wing of this somewhat-C shaped building, with the shopping mall in the other. Guest rooms occupy floors four through seven, and many are composed of multi-story lofts and suites. The back side of the building opens up to a manicured lawn where people can sunbathe or picnic, gradually sloping down to a private, roped-off beach just for guests of the Paradise.
