Hills of Morgran

Connecting the southeastern Morgran Peninsula with the rest of mainland Ayndrinor is a thin isthmus of mountainous land. These mountains extend south into the peninsula and the Morgran Desert, forming the home of the dwarven sacred city of Gel Morgran.   The isthmus itself is somewhat unpassable and uninhabitable, due to steep cliffs and rocky terrain, but there is one road below-ground that connects Gel Morgran with the northwestern side of the mountains and the state of Brandis. Trade via this road is somewhat rare, and the journey itself is relatively dangerous; Gel Morgran does not maintain guard patrols too far down this road, and its proximity to the Underdark allows dangerous monsters to threaten travelers. Caravans traveling this road typically enlist veteran mercenaries to protect them on the journey.   The climate of the mountains is extremely dry, and there is very little vegetation to speak of for most of the mountain range. The isthmus section receives enough precipitation and is close enough to the bountiful area of Brandis to allow the growth of plants and resilient trees. The southern extent of the mountain range is arid and strongly reflects its desert environs.
