Plane of Sky

The Plane of Sky is an airborne land, consisting of floating islands and cloud palaces. It is not possible to see or reach the bottom of the plane and anyone who falls or ventures down there never comes back. Some of the floating islands contain large waterfalls that fall into the abyss and others have vines that have grown so long you can't see the end. It is not possible to get around the plane without flight but some islands are connected with floating rocks, or even (very rarely) bridges.
There is no day or night, however, depending on the area of the plane you are in, the sky will be different colours. In some places, the aurora borealis will be on view, likely indicating that the goddess Aurora is nearby. The moon also moves around, changing colours and shapes, following the twin gods Lunar and Lleuad. Where the sky is dark enough, all the stars and constellations are visible and sometimes even galaxies can be seen.

Althys' Realm is generally misty, especially further down, with visibility decreasing to around 3 feet on the lowest islands. However, at the highest points, the mist recedes, leaving only faint wisps of cloud and the full light of the sun can finally be seen (or the stars depending on the location). A cool breeze will often blow through, displacing some of the mist and giving a nice break from the warm air, alternatively on the bottom, the air can be so cold that it would freeze you to death if you were exposed for too long.

Due to the terrain being so difficult to traverse, the majority of the beings that live there have developed wings or at least some other ability to fly. As the mist is too thick at the bottom for light to reach there, many of the plants and animals have developed their own light sources. A few notable creatures that live in this plane are Angels , Giant Eagles , Crystal Creatures and several types of Faeries. Some plant species include the White-Root Trillium and the Butterfly Polypody, and the Amethyst Penicillata and the Sunburst Lichen are some of the fungi that can be found.
Luckily for travellers, the Flora and Fauna that live here don't want to eat them, but they should still be careful as some could still cause unfortunate reactions and even death.

The Plane of Sky is full of many rich resources such as minerals like the magical Asisnite Crystal, as well as many different plant species that are used in powerful concoctions and potions. Most of the creatures that live there also contain some magic, and parts of them can be used as materials for weapons, potions etc.

Created by Esvelen, this plane was made as a realm for Althys to live and populate. Originally it was an empty space of land, but with Althys' powers and a little help from the other gods, it was soon a rich and thriving ecosystem.

There are only a few ways for the races of Aycia to get into the Plane of Sky, the most common being death. However, as most people would rather not lose their life just to go there, many people have tried the second way. High upon the peaks of the Klivithian Mountains can be found the great Celestial Eagle, unfortunately, finding the eagle is only the first hurdle as you must then persuade it to take you to Althys' Realm. Having said that, the third means is so difficult to acquire that it has only ever been received twice. Passage through the path of stars, directly to the Plane of Sky, must be given by one of the 4 major gods. Overall, the best bet to get there is finding the Celestial Eagle and persuading it to let you pass [unless you would like to die].
