Angels

Angels are humanoid creatures with large feathery wings emerging from their shoulder blades. Their skin and hair is pure white, and their eyes glow golden. Usually seen dressed in robes of pure white, angles are the manefestaions of goodness and purity, created by the goddess Althys.

New angels are created when the songs of multiple angels combine and flow together to create a new song in the form of a glowing ball of light. These songs much be very powerful, meaning the angels involved will have to be full up to the point of nearly bursting to be able to attempt this feat. Another reason of the low creation rates of angels is that the songs must work and flow together, resulting in a new beautiful song. Uncompatable songs can create cursed and dark creatures such as the Aeren.

Begining as little balls of glowing golden light, angels mature very quickly compared to many other species, reaching physical maturity as little as 10 days from creation. However, their song takes years to mature, with fully fledged songs being centuries in the making and newly matured angels only being able to create single notes.

Angels require a supply of souls and other creatures to survive, therefore are usually found around very popular places. They never seem to touch the ground and interact with any of their surroundings, and there are some theories that they are -----, although this has never been proven.

To be able to use their song, an angel must absorb enough positive emotions to charge it up. Angles also require these feelings to survive and without them they would wither away and their light would go out. A full angel can be identified by its bright glow, whereas a starving one will have almost nothing left. Absorbing these emotions from people does not harm them and unless they are very much intune with themselves it is not noticable to be happening.

Due to their glowing eyes, an angel's vision is very bright and they can only see movement, however, they seem to be able to sense (maybe even see) emotions and feeling on people. One of their main powers is their voice, being able to bring even the most unfeeling person to tears with a song. Despite being wordless, the songs of the angels resonate with any listener, the traces of their influence still lingering long after the final note ebbs away. It's meaning is too deep, too powerful, too abstract to express in mere words; these songs are an expression of the feeling of creation, of life. The melodies they sing, of what they sing, surpasses simple logic, surpasses conscienness; this music sends vibrations through the very soul. It is almost as if their songs pluck at the threads of life itself. It is dangerous to listen to an angel for too long as afterwards you will be left feeling that the world isn't good enough and too much could cause you to lose your mind, only thinking of chasing after just one more note.
