Elves
Basic Information
Anatomy
Elves are slender, bipedal humanoids with elongated limbs and pointed ears. Their faces are angular with sharp cheekbones, almond-shaped eyes, and long lashes. Their pupils are round, like humans, though their eyes often hold a faint luminous quality, particularly in moonlight. Hair is usually straight or fine, with common shades ranging from silver, blond, and brown to black. Facial hair is rare among elves, even among males.
Biological Traits
All elves are born with a natural connection to mana. Unlike humans, they do not need to struggle to sense it—magic flows as naturally as breath. Most elves instinctively channel small amounts of light or nature magic as part of daily life, whether it’s guiding plants to grow, sharpening their vision with mana, or illuminating dark paths.
- Innate Use: Their minor spells are as natural as breathing, requiring little conscious effort.
- Structured Magic: Like humans, elves still advance further when practicing structured spellcasting, rituals, or scriptural magic. This training allows them to access complex and powerful techniques.
- Affinity: Most elves develop an affinity toward light or nature-based elements, though rare individuals diverge into other styles.
Growth Rate & Stages
Elves grow at a slower pace than humans.
- Infancy (0–10 years): Elves develop slowly, remaining fragile and highly dependent on their parents for the first decade.
- Youth (11–50 years): Curious and highly observant, elven children learn language, basic magic, and survival through games and stories. They are already capable of simple light and nature spells.
- Adolescence (51–120 years): Physical maturity begins to show. During this stage, elves refine their natural magic and begin structured study, gradually building identities as scholars, hunters, or spellcasters.
- Adulthood (121–400 years): The prime of elven life. Their bodies and magical cores are fully developed, giving them stability and refined mastery of their craft.
- Elderhood (401–500 years): Though slower in body, elder elves retain much of their magical strength. Their memories and wisdom make them revered within their communities.
Ecology and Habitats
Elves thrive in environments rich with natural energy, such as forests, river valleys, and mountain glades. They are adept at blending settlements into their surroundings, building homes in trees, carved stone halls, or woven into natural landscapes. While less widespread than humans, they are present in most major regions of Elema as diplomats, scholars, or arcane advisors.
Behaviour
Elves are often described as tranquil and contemplative. Rather than rushing to act, they prefer to observe, listen, and understand before making decisions.
- Tranquility: Their calm demeanor helps them mediate conflicts and remain unshaken under stress.
- Curiosity: Though less restless than humans, elves are eager to expand their knowledge, particularly about magic, history, and philosophy.
- Memory: Elves possess exceptional recall, often remembering details and stories from centuries past.

- Smell & Taste: Comparable to humans, though slightly more refined.
- Touch: Fine tactile perception, aiding in delicate crafts such as weaving or archery.
