The Great Divide

The Great Divide, the single largest geographical phenonmenon in Avalos, while technically classifed as a river it would be better described as an inland sea. The river itself is nearly 30 leagues across at its widest and spans the entirety of the continent though at times narrowing enough to allow massive bridges to be built.   In fact one of the greatest achievements of the Dawning Age was the bridging of the Great Divide, for the first time safely connecting the northern and southern continents at the narrowest point. Even so the bridge is still nearly 7 leagues long and remains one of the greatest feats of engineering in the modern world.   The river itself is home to many different species of flora and fauna, being recognized widely as one of the most vibrant bodies of water in the land. Coral reefs abound and are filled with all variety of fish, sharks and other sea creatures. The water is a beautiful sea-green for most of its length as the river isn't a deep one.
