Phoena, God of Wishes and Entropy

Five feet tall with a delicate, doll-like appearance, Phoena is a curious patchwork of creatures—bearing the long ears of a rabbit, the paws of a lion, the soft wings of a dove, and the venom-tipped tail of a scorpion. A God who teeters dangerously between salvation and ruin, Phoena is a divine force who will either be your greatest benefactor or your most haunting nightmare. Once, her name echoed across the planes—praised in countless tongues, worshipped by the hopeful and the broken alike. In those days, she was seen as a beacon for those in need, the granter of wishes, the one who could rewrite fate itself. But those days are long gone.   Today, Phoena is a god shrouded in whispers and warnings—a patron of the desperate, the damned, and the dangerously hopeful. To call upon her is to make a deal with fate itself, knowing full well that what she gives may be exactly what destroys you.

Origin

Phoena was not born, but crafted into existence by the untraceable wish of an unknown entity, woven together with intention and mystery. Phoena’s divine purpose is simple yet daunting: to maintain balance in the Auroraverse by any means necessary.   She carries out this duty by granting wishes to those who seek her favor, though the passage of time and the creeping effects of corruption have twisted her power. No wish comes without a price—her blessings often carry a monkey’s paw effect, warping desires into curses that cut deeper than the original hardship. Because of this, Phoena’s once-revered name has faded into myth, her followers dwindling until only the desperate, the damned, or the truly reckless dare to seek her out. Those who do find her quickly learn: a wish is never freely given, and balance always demands its due.

Followers and Church

Typical Alignment: True Neutral

Followers: Magic users have particular favor in Phoena’s eyes, but those who have tried all else and failed will find favor in her as well.

Church: While Phoena has no temples to worship at, many can show appreciation at small shrines built in locations where the night sky is the clearest.

Champions

Phoena’s champions call upon her unknowingly in moments of desperation. Always in need of some kind of escape or instant solution to their problem at the time, leading to them making a wish. Who the person becomes after a wish is always the most interesting part. Will they rise above and find glory, or shall they fall into despair?

Relationships

• Glamara: Phoena slightly understands Glamara’s distaste for altering the fates of others and deems it a necessary evil for the entire Auroraverse and maintaining balance as a whole. Though Phoena chooses to keep her distance from Glamara to avoid a fight she has no interest in.
• Ambrosy: Phoena seems to enjoy listening to Ambrosy’s conversations and will sometimes accompany her to the feywild. Most notably, Phoena will ask how she can make her wishes more appealing to mortals. Ambrosy was more than happy to teach her.
• Shuzi: Shuzi guided Phoena to the pantheon when she was on the brink of being forgotten. He taught her the ways of deception and showed her the desperation mortals would put themselves through just to gain a leg up in the world. These lessons helped Phoena grant more wishes and know how and when to target the most desperate. In turn, Shuzi gained a force to push the world towards order when chaos takes hold.
