Neros - EN

Written by FirethornDragon

Neros is an island-based nation located in The Evgen Sea. It comprises four islands, and the capital city is Kheru. Neros is best known for their Gatiro bär, which they use to produce wine, spices, and jewelry.

The Leader of Neros

Neros operates without a traditional monarchy, lacking a king or queen as its head of state. Instead, it has a governance structure made up of 17 prominent senators and two elected consuls. The selection of consuls requires a unanimous vote from the senators, ensuring that the entire legislative body agrees on its leaders.       The senators, usually from wealthy and influential families in the region surrounding Nero, are chosen based on their social standing, wealth, education, and political influence. While there is a preference for members from established, affluent lineages, it is not an absolute requirement for Senate membership. Once elected, the consuls serve a five-year term, though they must be re-elected to continue serving beyond this initial period. This system promotes accountability and ongoing support from the Senate.       Although the senators hold significant power and prestige, their positions are not entirely secure; they can be expelled from the Senate, but the process is quite tricky. The authority to remove a senator lies solely with the consuls, reflecting the concentrated power of these two elected leaders and helping maintain the Senate's stability and integrity.

The Purpose of the Sanctuary of Neros

In the scenic region of Neros, a special law grants asylum to all escapees seeking refuge within its borders. This protective legislation is based on the country's focus on preserving its famous wine production, a key part of its economy and cultural identity. The government of Neros aims to stay neutral, avoiding the complications and conflicts that often accompany international disputes, so it can sell its wine freely without causing trouble.       Visitors, especially those attempting to arrest escapees, must understand the legal details of Neros’s asylum policy. Authorities are not allowed to try to capture an escapee until the person leaves the main islands of Neros. If an escapee is caught on these islands, it is considered illegal and could lead to serious diplomatic consequences.       This law has turned Neros into a haven for many people looking to start over or escape persecution. However, the rules are balanced; people who have escaped from Neros and are found hiding on the islands can be legally captured and sent back, since they still hold Neros' citizenship. This legal system ensures that while the islands provide refuge for many, they also protect the rights and duties of their own citizens.

Fauna and Flora

In the landscape of Neros, the vibrant colors of numerous exotic birds flutter through the air, their songs blending with the gentle rustling of leaves. The waters surrounding the four islands teem with brightly colored fish, creating an underwater symphony of life. Nestled among lush greenery, a stunning array of flowers blooms in every shade imaginable, filling the air with delightful fragrances.       The warm, tropical climate of Neros encourages the growth of exotic fruits and sweet berries across the islands. Here, one can find juicy mangoes, succulent papayas, and fragrant passion fruits, all ripening in the sun's warm glow. The residents expertly harvest these plentiful fruits, transforming nearly all of them into exquisite wines and rich jellies, capturing the essence of the islands in every bottle and jar.
