Deveniri
The Deveniri is the title given to the Current Ruler of The Neekholim Republic . It functions similarily to the Lord Prime , however, the Deveniri is completely chosen by the citizens of Neekholim in a perfect representative democracy. The candidate with the highest raw number of votes, becomes the next Deveniri, for a period of 7 years. The current Deveniri is NeekholimLeaderNameTemp .
Qualifications
The only qualification needed to become Deveniri is being able to be voted in by the people. If the people trust your qualifications, they vote for you.
Of course, it is an advantage to have skills and experience beforehand, but it is not a formal requirement.
Requirements
The Candidate must be of Neekholim descent. This means that if more than half of the candidate's grandparents are not fully Neekholim, then they are not seen as eligible.
Appointment
Every 7 Years, the entire population of Neekholim gathers for the Devenati Ceremony, where the new Deveniri is chosen. The way votes are counted, is by each candidate giving out coloured prismatic crystals (which fell from the The Shatter ) representing them, and whichever candidate reflects the most of their coloured light, becomes the new Deveniri.
Duties
The Deveniri is an absolute leader, for 7 years. They have advisors, of course, but they technically have absolute power. It is rare, however, that a Deveniri abuses their power. They are responsible for care of the republic during their term.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
When 7 years have passed, the Deveniri is sacrificed during the Devenati ritual, with the blood of the previous Deveniri batheing the new Deveniri, symbolising the passing of the old ruler, and the coming of the new.
