Aelsol (Sun Elves)

Aelsol build their cities in sun-drenched valleys deep within woodlands and far from any non-elf races. They defend their territories with a vicious blood-thirstiness. They prefer tropical and warmer temperate areas.

Aelsol facial features are severe and haughty even as they posses elven unworldly beauty. Their hair is usually copper, auburn, or blonde and their eyes are usually green, purple, or blue.

Founded in the idea that other races were inherently inferior to elves and that it was kindness to hold themselves apart and keep elven knowledge amongst themselves, since others wouldn't be competent to put it to good use anyway; Aelsol have become more militant and territorial as time has passed. They are the only elven race to embrace the sun; rejecting the moon as a false light that merely reflects another's glory, and the stars as lesser and insignificant lights. Aelsol embrace the notion of owning and reaping the benefits of your own glory and see themselves as the epitome of ideal elfdom. They do not recognize any pantheons or deities outside the Alethean and Elven, and even the Alethean deities are portrayed as being elven; which is a source of significant friction between them and the cleric of many Alethean deities who refuse to hear or respond to Aelsol petitions or worshipers.
While the Aelsol are not actively expansionist or genocidal, any non-elf found within their claimed territories are usually killed on site and left unburied; they simply consider the concerns and rights of non-elves to not exist, and those of any other elf to be secondary. If another elven race has something the Aelsol covet, they will first attempt to bargain (heavily in the Aelsol's favor) for it and only resort to coercion or stealing if they feel that they can get away with it with no significant consequences. If a non-elf has something the Aelsol covet, they simply take it and exterminate anyone in their way. Fortunately, Aelsol aggression is severely limited by their insular culture that rarely hears any news from outside their own borders
