The Istenari
The Istenari [Gods of lesser might] are the creations of who created them so he could command them to keep order on Galafrinas, they are the group of lesser Melcondi, the greater being the Tarriin. The Istendaro are split into two clans, the Vellyr and the Fenyr, with the Vellyr being more warlike, fighting in wars and carrying out violent deeds in order to keep the peace and maintain balance and order. The Fenyr were created by Falvii who tasked them with keeping the world and its nature in balance, such as keeping the flow of life and death in a continuous cycle.
As Eitor created the Vellyr, (of which he intended all the gods to be a part of), Falvii saw him saw him bringing them out of Akmador, his realm. She approached him and asked where they came from, with him replying that he created them to maintain order in the world, with him were five gods Melcas, Astëros, Xeros, Shuvii and Arista. He asked her to give them absolute sentience and she agreed, saying she would provide them with such only if she could create beings of her own that would work with his Vellyr in keeping nature and all her mortal children in order. Eitor agreed promising that no harm would come upon the Fenyr once they come together. Due to the nature of their creation they are not siblings, neither are they related by blood in any way, Eitor created them as tools to carry out his will, they are a means to an end.
So Falvii created the Fenyr, and five came to be before she became tired and returned to her realm. Avarë, Angora, Sadafyr, Yindrel and Tiritolus, and they shaped the valleys and mountains, and ruled over Life, Death, Nature, and the Earth. Avarë, who watched over all life and inherited the power to create and breath life into those whom Falvii also loved, and eventually, she would be given the gift of Volluaníl, ‘The Breath of Sentience’, which Eitor craved. Angora, would command the inevitable end of a mortals life, ruling over death, she would weave the very soul of a mortal away from their body, and she would also command the Eldi Kemul, the spirits of the dead who guide those that die in battle and whose bodies are lost to the afterlife. There was also Yindrel, who commanding of nature led her to sprout many trees and forests, to support the life of the animals and beings that Falvii and Avarë created. She grew the seven great trees of Yindrel of which Alenthemar is the greatest and sits on Emmendell. Tiritolus, the God of Earth, Rocks, Mountains and Valleys was very close to Yindrel as they would often meet when carrying out their tasks. He wrought much of the earth alongside the Tarriin Gleddienne, and would eventually take over when the Tarriin returned to her realm, he created many mountains and valleys, hills and dells.
It began with Melcas wedding Shuvii, both Vellyr and both created to command the skies, with Melcas commanding the upper skies and Shuvii commanding the middle skies. They had a son Arthiad, who would come to command the lower skies and the thunder and lightning. Many centuries later, Arista would come to Melcas insisting that he have more children, that would command the airs to bring words of seasonal change each year, and blow away the warmth of summer so that she may rest from her agricultural duties, or blow away the cold winter airs so that she may resume her duties and help the mortals farm and restock ready for her break. Melcas and Shuvii would have four more children, whom he named Nomir of the Northern winds, who blows his summer horn, Ardall of the Southern winds, who blows his cold winter horn, Mivdal of the Eastern winds, who blows his colder autumn horn, and Timés of the Western winds, who blows his warming spring horn. Together they are known as the Ëarvisten ‘Wind-Gods’, and they sit on high thrones to the North, South, East and West atop high mountains raised by Tiritolus. The Umera are said to be their servants, as they were frequently seen conversing with the gods and tending to their mountain thrones.
