Atûm
Atûm (T: “Abode”) was the first name
The Tarriin gave the world as they came into it. Atûm was created within the Pillar of Hastarrii, which sat within the Halls of Míthrondas, the dwelling place of the Alingatarr.
The world of Atûm was then carved upon the pillar by
Ytarrii, then the Tarriin descended and shaped it into great continents and seas, the land masses of which are now named
Emmandell, where lives the Istanari, made up of the Tarriin, Ynn'Athramu and the
Nemarru, as well as many of the
Draukeng of
King Tantarma, who rules in Aartarad,
Khammedon is known as the middle spring,
Hekanthis to the west, with Maattarqa lying just south of it, connected by a long, thin pass,
Akrinos and
Kinavarníl that sit to the south of Emmandell,
Fyvindsyrna that occupies the far southern reaches of the world, the archipelago of Tarasamba below Maattarqa, and along to the far west the great island line shaped like a blade, running from the south to the north, though not complete with one name, it has been called K'Uaru'xé. There are also the waters, created by the Tarriin
Narwer, and lived in by many; these include seas and oceans like the Atûmuri, the sea of Aarkutami.
Atûm is the home of the ancient races known as the An'Uladan, An'Mèwandor (Humanity), An'Urrondûn, Qu'Tlani, Qu'Yuyannu, Wûn'Hlinga, and the Ynalfur, who dwell in the sea and are friends with Narwer, and the none native mountainous Attanborr who dwell in Attan. They all live alongside the mighty Tarriin, and the twin races called the warlike Ynn'Athramu and the nature-centred Nemarru, of which the latter two govern under the mandate of the Tarriin.
Atûm is not just simply Atûm itself, but it is also many realms and kingdoms that are unlike any that sit upon the land, while the Ynalfur have their kingdoms under the sea, the Qu races have their kingdoms up in the mountains; they are the closest of the land races to the sky. The Wûn'Hlinga and extraordinary, because they dwell on both Atûm and the dead paths, occupying the spaces in between, and they come from the realm of
Lyfínor, who created them with this ability. Though the Wûn'Hlinga are technically dead, they are a resourceful people and have power over death; they often make the path for the other races easier to navigate. They dwell in vast kingdoms underground and occupy deep places in the world, but even they only go so deep. The An'Uladan are the closest in kingship to the divines in the north, created by
Falvii as the firstborn race. They lived in Emmandell for many years and still do, tall and radiant, they are powerful and gifted in the magic of the Istanari. The An'Mèwandor are crafty and steadfast in all things; they face death with unshakable spirit, but they are also susceptible to evil, they are capable of magic but are not naturally gifted in it, theirs is a hardy folk, travellers and seafarers, well-liked by the An'Urrondûn for their ingenuity and curiosity. The An'Urrondûn are hearty sea-faring folk with kingdoms all over the world, some in the most beligerent of environments, such as Thklunnsvat to the far south on the borders of Vjlavhotrr, their name for the frozen wastes. They make their kingdoms out of their surroundings, and sometimes they forge magic into them, creating such great monuments and towers that even the divines come and see them.
In the realms of the Tarriin are numerous other races and kingdoms, as each Tarriin realm holds not only those dead who worshipped them, but also those who live natively in their realm; they shall not be mentioned here.
