Saia Goddess of Spring, Youth and Rejuvenation
The Pillar of Hastarrii
Saia
“Beautiful Saia, revered by all of the world, none more so than the Tarriin who shaped the world, and the Isten who watch over it, for it is by her dance, that they remain young.”
Saia “Rejuvenator” is an Isten of the Fenyr Clan who is known for her healing and youth bestowing power, through her healing dances and various objects of power. Her most famous object of power being the Chalice of Youth which returns all who drink from it to youth, no matter how close to death they are.
Whilst dwelling in Emmandell, Saia would dance throughout the streets of Gardelas, and over the ever green fields that make up the lands of Emmandell. All who saw her dance felt restored and their bodies invigourated, and to the Isten and Tarriin that witnessed her, they felt their divine life extended and reinforced. She is the only one of the Isten who could give out immortality to mortals without inadvertently killing them, though she did this rarely.
Due to her power, the Tarriin made her their cupbearer and dancer in the high halls of Gardelas, and Istanos allowed her to breath the high airs of his realm so she could dance before him. The place that she loved most of all however, was the gardens and forests of Emmandell, especially Dorna Tal Falvii, where dwelt the Tarriin of Life and Healing, Falvii. It is here where she learned her powers as Falvii guided her, and her powers of bestowing immortality.
Birth
Other than being the only one of the Isten to be able to give immortality to mortals, she is also the Isten with the most unusual birth, having emerged from a tree hollow. After drinking the sap that the tree brought forth, the tree being the Ivrastu “Life Tree” for which all other tree Kessë also came from, she emerged fully grown and singing.
Being an endless youthful Isten, death has little power over her, and therefore she cannot succumb to death through age or even from the physical harm of violence, of which she has seen little.
Saia’s Dance
The dancing of Saia is enough to entrance mortals if she was at that time dancing during the night, but those who watch during the day feel invigorated and numbed of all ailments. For the Tarriin and the Isten, they felt there Kema “Spirit” restored and their immortality furthered, and their wounds healed. Akatoth sort this power indefinitely, yet he has never been able to break through to Saia’s power, not even through deception. Saia was one of the earliest of the Isten to sense the dark powers brewing in Akatoth, as well as the Vellyr, and she soon resigned from the halls of Istanos. This was only possible because of her dance, which she used to entrance Istanos in a terrible dream state, a wound to his mind which he carried for millenia to come.
Chalice of Saia
One of her masterworks which the Vellyr Ranvii crafted for her was the Menan Tal Ninis “Chalice of Youth” which she would dip in her well, the Quilin Tal Saia Mera, “Well of Saia’s Water.” Once drunken from, the recipient of the water will become youthful once more, their old age diminished and themselves restored of all ailments brought on by age. Diseases, however, remain, as do wounds and any physical hurt that were not brought upon by time, Falvii, the giver of life and the healer of all wounds does oft dwell nearby to Saia. Saia being a great lover of Falvii and a student in the healing arts and restoration of others.
