The Sprafeld Massacre (Session 13) (WIP)

After a strange encounter with the Stone of Constance, our heroes are approached by Tenson, offering a reward if the players assist in recovering Fort Sprafeld from Bandits. After a quick massacre, our heroes' success is swiftly undercut as Tenson is stabbed by one of the guards they saved, and a strange poison spreads over his body.

Woke up and the tingling was still there Tinson came to speak with us at the Wrenched Sail Requested help against bandits who have taken over Fort Sprafeld to the northwest Mayor Aylie is offering 500 gp and a set of enchanted half-plate as a reward for dealing with the bandits Strategic Information about Fort Sprafeld At least 5 bandits Have ranged weapons No magic abilities have been shown 5 well-defended towers with walls and a wooden gate 15-foot high walls 1 guard on each tower Devised a plan where Gael would sneak up the southern tower at night, take out the guard and then bring up Nirx and Tinson From there: me, Skar, and Constance would sneak up the river with Constance using her wild shape to become a crocodile while Skar would walk on the river bottom Gael managed to sneak up the tower undetected and kill the guard His rope knot gave way though before Nirx could climb up The River Team quickly lost the element of stealth as we began to wreak havoc in the fort while Gael and Nirx continued to sneak After a chaotic but fairly one-sided battle, we managed to defeat all the bandits, killing 17 and capturing 3 Freed the guards who had been captured Noticed that the right hands of the freed guards were a graying color Looked like the hand was dying The guards said that they fought the bandits but were defeated and captured 2 days ago Their memory seemed patchy at best Used to detect magic to see that there was enchantment magic on them that extended up their arm Tried to interrogate the captured bandits with very little success One of the guards moved away to pick up a note Nirx stole the note and climbed a tower to begin reading it Note: “Keep the guards locked away until they awaken. Remember to ask the questions before you release them. Wouldn't want another Galtoria. Once they are prepared return to me, grab any abled bodies on the way.” The note was written by an “Esmerelda” One of the guards stabbed Tinson but it did not kill him.
