The Depths of Heaven (Session 21) (WIP)

We fell for a long time before we finally arrived in the Choir of Squall The area split off in four directions and was incredibly dark The ruins inside the Choir resembled the ones I saw during our run-in with the witch Esmerelda We reached a long chamber filled with statues We knew that they moved when not being looked at so we formed a formation to ensure we were watching all directions At one point we blinked and I was grabbed by a statue which began to quickly turn me to stone. However, I was freed by Skar Despite being free, most of my left arm was turned to stone Eventually, we successfully made it past the angel statues Nirx nearly got snatched At one point we felt as though we were being watched We saw pressed stone in the middle of the tunnel and realized there was some sort of trap Turned out to be a stone hand that slammed on the ground near us We eventually made it through thanks to Gael’s skill with traps We entered a room with an armored humanoid figure with an ethereal form He identified himself as Enzia, the guardian of a “dark artifact” I asked him what his crime was to end up here and said that he “spoke out of line” Specifically, he spoke out when Rayla was banished I inquired what he knew about Anias attempting to usurp power I tried to convince him that Rayla needed us to access the chamber beyond him He eventually agreed to let us pass First, we used the Finger of Zonyak to pass the Door of Argoth Inside we came face to face with the body of the Raven Queen Nirx tried penetrating the barrier around the Raven Queen but could not We then executed the next step: using the Drop of Pure Darkness to remove the Essence of Alserin covering the body The blueish glass covering her parted and turned to grey dust Last, we used the Essence of Gontrov to remove the Boundless Chains of Kar which bound her to the spot The noxious gas removed the light from the chains, causing them to fall to the ground beneath her This causes a burst of energy as her lifeless body engaged us in combat   Session 21: In The Depths New Characters Enzia
