Oblex & The Brain (Session 9)

Our heroes travel into the Nautiloid defeating an Oblex and escaping with the orb requested by Bullyong.

Our heroes invesitage the Nautiloid deciding not to try and go in from the bottom but climb up to the main door with the help of Gael and his ability to climb on walls. Inside the heroes heard much movement within of tiny creatures scurring about. Within they met a group of Cranium Rats, transformed by eating the tadpoles living within a pool of pink liquid and befriended them by offering food in exhange for the orb requested by Bullyong.
Gael & Nirx split off to investigate the side rooms finding strange openings that went downward.
Traveling up to the second floor our heroes found a strange pool of red fluid but decided to continuing upwards. Where on the third floor they met a group of adventurers from the adventurer's guild of Ravenfort on the Deserts of A'ra.
This party was also here for the orb sent to gather this dangerous artifact, lead by a human figher by the name of Layla.
Our heroes told this part of adventurers that they needed the orb and would only help open the door if they got it which this group of adventurers happily agreed to. But just as the door opened these adventueres transformed into red gooey creatures connected to some kind of tendrils that led upstairs.
After defeating this party, our heroes head upstairs and meet an Oblex. A large red gellatinous creature given form by the magics of the Mind Flayers. She had defeated and consumed the members of the Ravenfort Adventurer's Guild whose bones and equipment still floated within her. The Oblex stole the memories of Nirx threatening to keep them unless the party gave her the orb and left.
With little option our heroes went down to the chamber of the orb. Slickk'Twa almost being drowned but escaped through some tubes of pink liquid.
Our heroes led the rats from downstairs to face the Oblex to keep the orb and get back Nirx's memories. It seemed to be going bad however the Raven Queen burst through the influence of the Oblex returning Nirx's mind to himself and getting the final blow on the Oblex.
With this our heroes took their leave and rested on the ship for the night.
