Gael and Lazarus talked a while, with Gael upset about his father being absent Lazarus was captured by the City of Stone Arbitrators using sunlight magic They held him prisoner for 50 years in a time vault The organization hates vampires, planar beings who leave their planes, etc Lazarus escaped only 20 years ago, at which point Gael’s mother had passed and Gael was missing Gael said he was no longer willing to kill his father upon learning he did not intend to abandon Gael Gael spoke privately with his father He learned that all humans on the island were once criminals with life sentences for their crimes During dinner we got introduced to new vampires Virgil Shadowweb was a large statured man with a powerful physique Virgil not-so-subtly hinted that he preferred when vampires were more directly controlling of humans Andrea Lionsbane: a confidant woman Kris Inkblot: a very young-looking vampire girl Dinner was interrupted by extremely loud knocking echoing throughout the manor The vampires seemed very embarrassed and both Lazarus and Virgil left Lazarus said it was not to be talked about Kris said “she never stops crying” but seemed unwilling to say more Constance went with Kris to the bathroom in order to speak with her privately in the hallway Kris said she was saved by Lancaster after she was badly hurt (she has only been at Vladinkul for 11 years) Kris could hear crying from Lazarus’ room when she listened to the door Lazarus no longer seems to use the room Gael investigated Lazarus’ room on his own He encountered a spectral female figure sitting down and crying She repeatedly said the word “Gone” Gael attempted to touch her and was immediately hit with crippling feelings of grief, causing him to uncontrollably cry After speaking with Andrea a little, I excused myself from the dinner table to go find Gael I arrived at Lazarus’ room to find Gael speaking with a form of spectral apparition She seemed different than a banshee as she was non-hostile I figured her to be likely to be a revenant, except one without a body Gael went to speak privately with his father and learn more Lazarus said he could not bring himself to go into the room to discover the cause of the knocking Lazarus said the creature was not a revenant as he could tell that Gael’s mother’s soul was “gone” The Solarians threw Gael’s mother into the Sunwell in order to purge her soul from existence, so that she could not be resurrected Gael, Skar, and I decided to investigate the Lady of the Lake to see if we could obtain the sword she was rumored to possess She seemed to be a strange form of Siren She did not sing any kind of song The spirit informed us the sword was at the bottom of the lake Skar found the sword in a chest at the lake bottom The blade was called the “Scourge of Strahd” and was formed of pure sunlight As Skar attempted to emerge from the lake, the Lady changed to a red coloration and become hostile.
