Kathendi
Anakkatharnemkathendiisiiakhan Gleam-scaled is the goddess and progenitor of Gemstone Dragons. According to the Draconic History, she hatched from a geode in a vein of sentient crystals during an attack from unwitting miners, and grew to become a dragon.
Later, Kathendi happened upon a civilization of Humans being attacked by creatures against which they were nearly as helpless as her kind had once been. At first she regarded them only with curiosity the way one might regard a dying campfire, but their desperate prayers finally moved her. She paid forward the blessing she had once discovered, and revealed to them a path to discovering the secret power of dragonkind as well. The people of this village became the first dragon disciples.
