Personal history
At a very young age, Nezznar was visited with bizarre and inexplicable visions that he couldn't explain. With his parents working tiring hours to feed their family, he was encouraged to take to the streets of the Underdark to try and make money by fortune telling. When he was a teenager, a group of Weavers passing through recognised his immense power as a cognate and brought him into their care.
He took to the training quickly and rose amongst their ranks, eventually reaching the role of Receiver in his own task force. He was involved in future-telling for the Keepers of the Dawn and the Saviours before their destruction. For centuries he served the faction faithfully.
In 1212, he received a vision from Istus instructing him to infiltrate the Hollow Guard as a double agent. He did so with unwavering faith, putting his trust in Istus even though he didn't know what the future held for him. He took on the alias the 'Black Spider' and slowly worked his way up the ranks.
In 1232, he was tasked with locating and harnessing the power of the long lost Forge of Spells. It was going smoothly until he was thwarted by the party. He was killed by Athena when she went in for a kiss but stabbed him instead. In his final moments, he received another vision from Istus - the first in twenty years. She told him that he had done well. She told him the truth about Athena's soul. She told him what needed to be done. And so, with his dying breath, Nezznar compelled Athena to never forget him. His name would live on with her, even though she wouldn't know the truth.
