Rachdale
Geography
Located in the central area of Atalan, Rachdale is the brewing capital city of the region. It is a place for traders, travellers, and folk seeking to build a better lives for themselves.
Climate
During summer, Rachdale gets average temperatures around 30 degrees Celcius and stable summer days. Autumn provides mostly rainy and dark days, with average temperatures ranging from 10 -15 degrees. Only towards winter do temperatures drop significantly. The moment the cold settles into the streets, people are forced to adjust their lifestyle to snowy days. Easy for the rich, but a whole lot more challenging to the poor. An upside to this time of year are the cosy moments in front of the fireplace, children and animals playing around in the snow, and a popular, region wide known winter fair.
Fauna & Flora
Rachdale is located at the south side of Norwood forest. The trees, perfect for woodcutting, provide a great source income for the city and is traded throughout most of Atalan because of the size and quality of the product. Norwood is rich with life and houses approximately 7.100 animal and plant species. Both the forest and surrounding plains are great hunting grounds throughout the different seasons.
History
The rampant city of Atalan is built on the ruins of a much older settlement, once belonging to the elves. It used to be a place of worship, but after the war almost all traces of the old settlement were gone. In the last couple of decades, Rachdale has grown to be the biggest city in the Atalan region. It is now a home to traders, farmers, woodcutters, carpenters, architects, armorers and many more.
