Shimmerglass
Shimmerglass is a glazed, stonelike material with a pale turquoise hue.
Largely used in construction work, Shimmerglass has historically been crafted by specialist elven smiths in Astaeria to form grand spires and palaces made almost entirely out of glass. The Shimmerglass Palace, located in Othrond o’Haled, is perhaps the oldest example. Built in 56 A.E. it still stands proud today as the residence of the Erroloni royal family.
Shimmerglass has had somewhat of a revival since the Empire's victory in the Vanguard Revolution. With Emperor Augustas fascinated by the ways of the ancient and ill-fated Mathidoni Empire, the Azure palace has hundred of Shimmerglass windows which give the palace its nickname. Shimmerglass is also incorporated into the Emperor's throne itself!
