the Speakers' Council
The Speakers' Council is the ultimate spiritual leadership of the Cuédleür people, made up of the senior siarabyðeur from each village. The Council oversees clan-wide proceedings like the Midsummer Rites and Snowmelt Festival, and in times of upheaval or great need, it is they who interpret the will of the Gods in order to guide the clan.
History
Formation
As the Cuédleür clan became established in Ðiéithtír, they began to spread out, forming a number of settlements across the continent. With their new, more decentralized population, it became more difficult for those in more distant settlements to seek personal and communal guidance from the clan's senior spiritual authority. Thus, new World-speakers were trained, enough to be sure there could be at least one in each village who could in turn train successors. The first Speaker's Council was made up of these most experienced siarabyðeur, and as they grew old, they were indeed succeeded by their protégés, who would eventually be replaced by their own, on and on until today.
