Rhadakhan Razorfang
Rhadakhan Razorfang
Rhadakhan has seen a lot; death, suffering, and struggles for power, but what he has found now is quite alien. The nation of Aryllia that he finds himself in is the stage for a conflict between otherworldly beings, all vying for control over mortals. His brother’s dying wish got Rhadakhan involved, and now he is working with F.R.A.G. in assisting Rian with the creation of a potent machine that might turn the tide.

Personal history
“From the moment I could walk, I was learning how to fight, on behest of my mother, Malvanik. At first it was knives and mallets, but soon I moved on to swords, clubs, and axes. When I was seven, my mother gave birth to my brother, Arlethe. He was a lot weaker compared to me, and if I didn’t stick up for him he probably wouldn’t have lasted long at Abhul’s table, where our tribe lived. Eventually, during a period where my mother was preparing for expansion (when I was about 23 or so), my brother did not want to participate and was badly tortured as an example. When no one was looking, I took up his broken body and rushed miles for someone who could heal him. I did find a church of sorts, where I left Arlethe to be healed; I did not see him again for several years, he was more or less exiled.
Eventually I encountered him again, trying to steal our tribes meteorite a few years later. In that time I had become dedicated as a paladin for the glory of one of our gods, Ilneval. I met Arlethe and found out that he had a new name, Raphael… That was strange, but I looked past it and learned of what he and the group traveling with him had been through; eventually I had to bid him goodbye, as mother would be coming soon.
I wouldn’t see Ari or the other ones until he called upon me with magic, they needed help against a dragon. I then went out with a small brigade and lent the group their aid. Ari was there with our father, whom I had not seen since I was a boy. Ari then requested to go back to camp and speak with mother; I brought him there and watched as he was shamed by her once more, but in a less destructive way than before. Then Ari was on his way once again, but called me again, saying ‘this was it’ for him and to ‘continue to fight for peace.’ I eventually found his group at Afa Thalor while giving some of my forces for the fight against that ‘hero’ Adran. They told me Arlethe had died.
After helping those people fight off the Emerald Scourge, I began my travels with them after an attack at the castle at Norwich. My brother’s dream of peace was under attack again, but I felt that Ilneval, whom I had followed faithfully, had left my prayers unanswered, and my Oath of Glory aimless. While at an ocean town I attempted to rescind my oath and join a group called the faithless but was accosted by the machine in my group. The machine, called Judge, told me to not abandon the gods in totality but to make myself fit on the path in accomplishing their goals, and not give into the worship of oneself. I have began to take those words to heart, and have sworn a new oath, one of Vengeance under Pelor, god of the light and rebirth.
Education
Rhadakhan is experienced with warfare and the myths of his people, but he has otherwise learned a minuscule amount of knowledge of the outside world while on his travels with F.R.A.G.
Employment
Rhadakhan works with F.R.A.G. but is directly affiliated or under pay; it is a similar arrangement under Rian, as Rhadakhan seeks the safety of Aryllia not coin.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Achievements: Outstanding performance as both a soldier and commander during the Battle against the Emerald Scourge, respected paladin of Ilneval (formerly) at Abhul’s Table, able to hold own for a spell against Varrick Stormbreaker.
Failures & Embarrassments
Failures: Temporarily lost sight of goals and sought refuge in the Fraternity of Faithless.
Mental Trauma
Not being there to save his brother from death sits heavy in Rhadakhan’s heart, making him feel more responsible than he is for the event than in reality.
Intellectual Characteristics
While Rhadakhan isn’t intelligent in the academic sense, he is well met in the affairs of war and battle, and can certainly formulate strategies based around such.
Morality & Philosophy
Rhadakhan believes that those with strength must use it to support those who lack such strengths. Since hearing Arlethe’s final message, Rhadakhan actively seeks threats which he believes to be threatening the peace of the world, and is also helping F.R.A.G. and Rian Osmid build a special machine.
Rhadakhan tends to value respect over all else, and tends to not give it to others unless they’ve earned it; he tends not to refer to people by their actual names unless they have proven themselves to him in some way.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Rhadakhan wants to prevent a future cataclysm threatened by Varrick, prevent extraplanar conflict on the material plane brought by Mars and Pluto, and maintain a balance of peace throughout Aryllia
Savvies & Ineptitudes
Savvies: Warfare, Strategy, Intimidation, feats of strength, being Malvanik’s perfect son
Ineptitudes: Talking, navigating, knowing who anyone is, being gentle
Likes & Dislikes
Likes: Combat, mounted riding, Asad, desert wildflowers
Ambivalent towards: Judge (or the machine, depends on how he feels)
Dislikes: exposition on topics everyone else knows, Feats of acrobatics, reading
Virtues & Personality perks
Virtues: Rhadakhan will fight to the tooth and nail for those he wishes to protect, which includes all people of Aryllia.
Perks: Has access to paladin magic for healing, buffs, and damage
Vices & Personality flaws
Vices: When in a state of grief, Rhadakhan tends to abandon his beliefs and seek out others, with the false idea that he is merely challenging his current ones.
Flaws: Rhadakhan tends to develop a blind hatred for his enemies, which may prove to be a problem in the future.
Hygiene
Rhadakhan always kept himself at least marginally cleaner compared to his kin, and he had to represent one of their gods. He continues to maintain a similar level of hygiene while with F.R.A.G.
Social
Contacts & Relations
Family Contacts: Malvanik, Arlethe (formerly), Apollo
Mutual Companions: F.R.A.G.
Other Contacts: Rian, Valros, Thia
Family Ties
Firstborn of the matriarch of the Razorfang clan.
Religious Views
Rhadakhan used to follow the teachings of Ilneval, but became disillusioned with Ilneval after the loss of Arlethe. He now follows Pelor, and wants to use his strength to help give birth to a peaceful world the lord of light would be proud of.
Social Aptitude
Rhadakhan has quite a force of personality, but can’t convey himself well in a more civilized discussion. He does better in more relaxed social settings, like in a bar or with family.
Mannerisms
Rhadakhan tends to throw his weight around, as he lacks respect for the physical objects of the world, having learned during his childhood about the temporary existence of the material and the permanence of the glory of Ilneval.
Speech
Rhadakhan speaks very bluntly with a simple cadence that befits one from the outer lands of Aryllia, far from the high society found within the capital.
Wealth & Financial state
Rhadakhan inherited his brother’s possessions upon his death, and earned some coin while working with F.R.A.G.
A young Paladin trying to find purpose in an increasingly bleak world. Currently serving the god Pelor, Rhadakhan has made an oath of vengeance to make sure those responsible for the death of his brother Arlethe and the planar interferences face justice.
