The force of nature we call "Magic" is a long studied phenomenon we still have only the barest hints on how it operates. This force has been in existence since the birth of the universe and is prevalent everywhere. It is not, however, a uniform and blanket force, but instead a clumpy, essence that is thick in some areas and thin in others. It is also not an inherently naturally force that just anything can simply use, but rather a biological manifestation sharpened by a sentients will power into the tool they need. Understanding what it is still eludes us however. While it's generally considered a fundamental force of nature, it seems indifferent to the other forces, only manifesting when used by biological or artificial forces. It doesn't generally react with the other forces, instead, forcing these forces to disobey their natural laws in small and local ways. Due to this strong presence in our lives, and the mystery surrounding it, it's not surprising that it was been revered throughout history. Some cultures believed it to be a linking force between all our souls, others believed it was their god(s) manifesting in the world. It has been vilified in some cultures and raised to an altar so high that it was worshiped in and of itself. Despite this, most modern nations understand magic as a force that can be utilized, alongside any other force, like electromagnetism or the nuclear forces. Studying magic is a profession like any other scientific pursuit, and the practice of it has helped shaped all of our lives for the better.
