Critical voices are getting louder and the hunger for power stirrs in some of the more skilled magic users.

Shortly after the south splits off, the western offshoots of the forest claim their independence and found "Lurazun", the "Western Realm", with Sishen Zerthseiz as their leader. She is one of Estishya's most gifted disciples.
In the meantime Sahshri refuses to do anything against the fracturing, which doesn't make her too popular with the north, but eventully the fracturing is accepted.

The sword is whispering in his ear and he makes a pact with it.
When he marches into the palace of the Capital city of the Northern Realm to present his findings, people bow down before him and even the ruler of the north feels some divine purpose radiating off the young elf.
A meeting of the rulers of all three realms is called, to show off the discovery and discuss what to do.
Eventually, it is believed to this day by some that the magic of the sword had influenced them, the rulers decide that the sword was an omen and that reuinon was near. Not all of them agree immediately of course.
With overwhelming public support, Shian claims the throne in the new Capital city Khikh Talueokh and claims governance over the new realm he calls Estira in honour of the Founder and original owner of the sword, Estishya.

    Terfayen's Reign
    Political event

Since Nāshẗa didn't leave an heir behind, the next in line for the throne is her mother's sibling, Terfayen, who only reluctantly ascends the throne. This reluctance is characteristic for their entire reign that only lasts a relatively short period of 128 years, during which war rages all over Arregeas and Terfayen tries to keep Estira out of it with very little success. The south is attacked by humans, and although the north is deemed a safe haven at first, it soon gets dragged into the magic wars as well, thus leaving Ezrentaokh in the middle of the forest the only major city that is spared from battle. The government is momentarily moved there in order to ensure the safety of the monarch.

    Siarth's Reign
    Political event

After Ruyeth abdicates, his son, Siarth becomes the Ruler of the Woodlands, but what he rules over is little more than shattered pieces of a once prosperous realm. In an immense effort, Siarth secures the wreckage of his realm and pulls Estira out of the Magical Wars that are still not settling, and after another period of strong magical barriers and almost total isolation from the outside world he leads his people into the era of hope. Tired and weakened from the effort of salvaging Estira and rebuilding it almost from scratch, yet another tragedy awaits Siarth, as his younger son, Kishay, who was chosen to be the next ruler by the sword, kills his older brother Ishra to defend his position in line for the throne from him.
Thus, abdicating like he had planned to, is much less of an option for Siarth and the exhausted King is still governing his people with all the energy he can muster, which nowadays isn't a lot.
