Southern Maest Historium
Maest makes up the southern sections of the continent of Krinara. Broken into four regions, Krinara is one of Arkan’s greatest landmasses and is the most charted of them as well. Northern Maest remains separated from the Mountain, Kilkrayuk–the heart of Krinara. These lands are heavily uncharted and extremely dangerous, it is known as the great wilds, and Northern Maest's region is not saved by that grace. However, Northern Maest is home to several human strongholds held in many’s esteem as the greatest contenders of their kind.
The southernmost region to which you will be introduced, both to and within, is Southern Maest.
Known to many as “Amra’s Heel,” it is the wild brink before the infernal nation of Andramedus. A land brought into fruition by both a tribe of intelligent mysterious folk known as the Avi’ora, and the Red-Scale clan of Tieflings, the ‘Brimseared Sovereign of Argite’Andra.’ Together, they constructed the medieval mega-citadel known as Andramedus, broken into two parts, High Andramada and Low Andramada. The city spans several hundred miles and the entire journey to reach its center from its outer rim entails a three days journey; a testament to how grand and large it's become. If you are a tiefling player character, know that this is most likely either your home or where you were born from. Surrounding Andramedus are the Infernal Juggles of Nal’thal, these jungles are known for their dangers and thickness, with the roots of some trees massive enough they form caverns beneath them.
To the north of Andramedus is Zera Al’Dea, home to elves of many kinds and the mysterious “Gate of Atnea Falls.”
Ard’Skarlia is a human faction that owns a bit of island territory, a group of tribes resembling earth's human counterpart, the Nords. The area is broken down into several holds that the groups have agreed to own, there is the Bjorn, the Vargr, and the Hrafn ættir.
Beneath Southern Maest is the Underdark, “Totalus Abyssa.” If you are drow, you will hail from the Stygianburgh, most likely as refugees against the scourge of the Voidbeast. A curse said to be placed when the first king of the drow, “Lusa Adia D’Andrane” betrayed an illithid resurgence. They then swore to uproot and destroy him and his kin. During what is night for the upperlands, beast swarm the city, having it constantly on alert as these strange creatures attempt to purge the populace. Only those in their homes are safe, with a protective seal over the door maintaining a seal until day arrives. People here are also said to be driven into a violent murderous rage while in the presence of the “undernight,” and transform into abominations.
