The Southern Infernal Forest of Krinara
Where the Primordial are free.
"Fear and dread rule this forsaken jungle, the primordial thrives here, chaotic, ruthless, everything, every creature imaginable turn to beast--and even the people, the clans of monsters that run those woods. Stay vigilant, friend. For the predators here always are."- Sir Arborus Del Aganta
Introduction
The Infernal Jungles of Krinara are known to be some of the most harrowing and dangerous regions regarding the southern regions of Krinara, when you hear "Infernal Jungle," you imagine a jungle made of flaming trees and filled with demons, this is not exactly true. There's little flame to these jungles except from the campfires and stone-ovens of their primitive inhabitants, the true infernal nature lies in the beast and grandness that relish in this primordial ancient realm. Alas, the trees have grown to such great sizes that entire paths can span on their roots alone, roots so great they can create caverns beneath them, humid places hiding dark creatures. The jungle is well known for its multiple layers, broken into three:The Canopa
The upper ranges within the branches of the Great Eldling Willows that span the jungles, at this point you are a half-a-league from the earth, often considered the safest path through the jungles, though it is difficult to traverse due to the sparse nature of the great branches leading between each tree. Only the most skilled of rangers or guides know how to traverse this level, and though it is safer, that does not mean it isn't without its dangers and to fall from the these heights would mean certain death. The Withes
When entering these jungles, the large culminations of roots spanning across the greater horizon within mark the middist of this region. The most active, regarding traverse and creatures who live within these regions. This layer, though the second most dangerous of the two is still quite treacherous, as there is a saying in Krinara, 'The Withes are home to all that is Dire,' and every creature here, whether it be as benign as a hare or as deadly as a great anaconda or wolf are in their dire forms. And so are huge in comparison. Small villages of Ahnima can also be found here, some more kind, others dangerous or grateful depending on the clan in question. The Feywoods
Lying beneath the roots of the Great Inferna. This is a dark place, filled with heavy fog due to the immense humidity and Primal Mana Concentration known as Mist. Visibility is often a huge concern here, due to bioluminescent ampules that emit and bounce light beneath the great roots and smaller trees that grow within it, the lands remain moist, and incredibly fertile. The woodlands give way to an eerie world where the fey are said to hide. It is incredibly dangerous down here, ancient beast and monstrosities roam the fog, along with the "fallen" Abyss possessed unfortunate wayfarers and journeyers who tread these lands, now they shamble endlessly through it, killing and devouring anything they find. It is also said that paths to the underdark lie here as well, though they are typically avoided do to how treacherous they can be. Ruins dot the landscape, hauntingly reminding the world of a bygone era.
