Spur Blacklake's Murder
One of the Old Castle's most famous ghosts, Spur Blacklake wanders in the vicinity of the North Dock Tower. His throat was slit before he was pushed from the open window to the cobbles 50 feet below. To this day no one knows whether the defenestration or the exsanguination killed him.
Summary
Spur Blacklake was a renowned pirate in the late seven- and early eight-hundreds. He was a complicated man who certainly committed more than a fair share of crimes, only to turn around and use his ill-gotten gains to better this or that small island.
The problem with pissing on powerful people is that they tend to be pissy in turn. That's exactly what happened to Spur.
He had come to Crossroads Island for the Autumn Harvest Festival of 822. Business meetings and financial transactions are among the time-honored traditions of the Harvest Festival, and it was to meet over some such that he went to North Dock Tower that night.
While no one who was in the room -- Spur and his murderer were alone -- ever spoke details of what happened, witnesses from the plaza outside all agree that there was a loud argument. They could hear raised voices in the top of the tower, but no distinct words could be made out.
The one thing everyone agreed on -- witnesses and investigators -- was the end result.
Mid description of gore.
It doesn't sound like this one will get solved, unless his spirit can shed some light. Its a interesting haunting site for his spirit, if it stays outside by the stain verse haunting the dock tower.
