Blackbridge

Blackbridge is a sleepy little village high up within the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Named after the great black stone bridge that spans a great chasm between the village and an ancient road that wends its way into the mountains and out the other side into the neighboring Kingdom of Castinis, Blackbridge is remote and rarely visited by travellers. Long ago, beyond the boundaries of memory of all but the oldest elves living in Flamelle, the small road that wound its way through the mountains had been often used for pilgrims making their way between Kingdoms, traders eager to sell their wares, or inevitably soldiers on the march to defend the Flamellen homeland. Those times have long since passed this village by however, as the road has long been in disuse and poor repair. Famously, a ruinous castle stands along the road, high up in the mountains above the village, called Ravencroft Castle, named for its former noble owners who have since faded into obscurity.   In recent history, Blackbridge was the unfortunate victim in a preying vampire's ill deeds, at least until a band of adventurers happened upon the village by coincidence during their travels south, and offered much needed aid. With the situation eventually resolved and the vampiric lords of Ravencroft Castle put to rest for good, the village has returned to its former slow-paced life.
