The Reckoning, who at first seemed to be a loosely organized coalition of orcs and deserters fighting both sides of the Penance/Cognance conflict, began a series of excavations across Requiem, seeming to be searching for something buried beneath Foci.

It became clear that something much larger was afoot when King Aurum of Sigil contracted the adventuring party that defeated Shepherd and saved Eodur from a renegade Herald of Aevilok to track down his wayward daughter, Princess Tria. Through their escapades, they learned that the Reckoning had allied with the Giant Ordning and the Heralds of Aevilok to seek out the seals holding a legendary beast in stasis beneath the Anvil Mountains in Central Requiem.   The beast, revealed to be none other than the "World Eater" Tarrasque was ultimately freed when Palios Pseftis revealed himself to be in collusion with the Reckoning and used a stolen Wish scroll to wake the monster. However, its rampage was cut short when the adventuring party successfully stopped it and the Reckoning army at the gates of Sigil. The beast was prevented from rising again by a Wish spell from Aefaren Thrangur, who lost the ability to cast the spell again in the process.
