Out of the Abyss

The still young Assembly is faced with an existential threat; horrific, spider-like creatures emerged from Kirajud's Abyss and swarmed the Isles like a plague. These creatures, Neogi, were relentless in their onslaught and their numbers appeared limitless as more and more surged out of the Underdark.

For quite some time, it seemed as though the Neogi would flush the Elen'nar, Karrera, and other minor Assembly kingdoms from the Isles and continue to flood into their homelands in K'allpa. With no small amount of reluctance, the Karrera posited the idea of "elevating" a number of orcish clans that roamed near the Karrera's homelands as much needed muscle to fight the Neogi. The Elen'nar agreed and deployed countless ships to collect the orcs, who were promised great rewards for their service.   The orcs proved highly successful, cutting a swath through the Neogi's lines and pushing into Kirajud's Abyss itself. By the time the orcs were done, the Neogi's Underdark hives were nothing more than ash and cinder, quelling the invasion and all but annihilating the Neogi, who are now considered extinct, at least within the scope of the Talhani Isles.
