The Pyramid of Tarys
Purpose / Function
Its not entirely clear what the purpose of the pyramid was, but it appears to have been a central part of the civic and cultural life of the residents of Tarys.
Alterations
Parts of the pyramid have fallen into disrepair or been blocked off over the period it hasn't been in use.
Architecture
The pyramid is constructed out of stone, and follows the pattern of a step pyramid that has been covered with smooth stones. There is a large central shaft in the pyramid that archaeologists believe served as a way for dragons to move around freely, and stairs to allow those with legs free movement between the twenty-five floors of the pyramid. It's believed that there's a series of burial catacombs beneath the pyramid, but no living being knows how to get into them.
History
It's not entirely clear how the pyramid was built, but it appears to have been a crucial part of the city of Tarys. It also appears that the pyramid fell into disuse after the fall of the dragonborn civilization.
