Demographics
Most of the inhabitants of Tarys are archaeologists and representatives from the Grey Tower of various races. A large number of them are human or dragonborn.
Government
The Tarysian government is essentially an archaeological oversight council overseen by representatives from the Grey Tower, in order to ensure that the resident archaeologists don't do anything untoward.
Defences
Taris is defended by members of the Order of the Grey Mages and guards hired by archaeological expeditions.
Infrastructure
Tarys has little infrastructure currently, but in the past it would have been a city on par with the likes of Farhold or even Argos.

Tarys has several factions of archaeologists, with splits along lines of governments, politics, and race. One of the larger divides is between expeditions from the Republic of Argive and the Free Cities.

Tarys was once a dragonborn city, before the collapse of their civilization.

Tarys has the same stone architecture common to known surviving architecture of the dragonborn civilization.

Tarys was buried by sand and dirt in the Reaches.
