    The Y-Serum is an incredibly rare and potent mutagen which was developed by the brilliant insanity of Mayor Gunther Kueglemann. Carrying an odd scent of iron, this dark red liquid could at first be mistaken for molten iron - until one realizes that is impossible due to the lack of heat and fiery glow. The consistency is also thicker than water but far from the sludge of molten metal. Rather, it carries a form of blood. Which it is, but not exactly.   The taste of the Y-Serum can only be described as the same as scratching one's teeth against an iron fork. Metallic, somewhat sweet and oddly alluring. What is even stranger is the fact that drinking this liquid won't kill you. Unless you are a Vampire, in which case a rapid mixture of evolution and devolution will cause intense muscle spasms and after a few minutes of excruciating pain - mortal organ failure.   As for the mortals, digestion is no more harmful than a potent medicine. One that can cure anything from a headache to jumpstarting the heart of the recently deceased due to heart malfunctions or blood loss. It can also cure various blood diseases by empowering blood cells to aggressively target viruses or bacteria.   The one singular side effect with a fifty percent chanse of occurring, is these blood cells cause collateral damage to melanin production. Resulting in a bio-engineered yet benign albinism.     The Y-Serum isn’t as simple as boiled blood, or blood magic brewed potions. Only the base consists of relatively ethically sourced sanguis essence from those blessed by Ysand’s golden bloodline. Smuggled by Black Church worshipping doctors that rather than murdering and sacrificing their victims accidentally lose a couple of medical test vials or a donation tube.   This is done to avoid drawing attention to their operations, which take place in Castello di Penumbra. Here, the gold coloured essence is purified by boiling. Then comes the hard part.   A large quantity of vampire specimens collected from various corners of the world are trapped here in the Chamber of Mirrors. From them, it is the saliva and not the blood which is harvested - as the true source behind vampiric disease. Especially as a vampire’s veins are known as the source to a powerful hallucinogen that can wrest control over most mortals minds.   By curing various forms of saliva and adding it with the base, the serum is then boiled with silver dust and white lilies to reverse engineer the vampiric vectors to become non-lethal and incapable of infecting mortals. Potent blood rituals are then carried out to sort away unwanted vampiric strains from the desired ones.
